Data Centre Security Professional

As a data centre security officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and security of our client's facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a world-class security service.
About the RoleThe primary functions being undertaken will be security screening to ensure only authorized equipment and personnel access and egress from our client's facilities. You will be responsible for conducting security screening of all personnel entering and exiting a restricted area, monitoring facility alarms and security systems, investigating and responding to alarms, and managing keys/cards, access control systems, and visitor management systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct security screening of all personnel entering and exiting a restricted area.
- Monitor facility alarms and security system Class 5 alarms, Security portal resets, Duress alarms.
- Investigate and respond to alarms, first responders to the incident and emergency management including First Aid.
- Manage keys/cards, Access Control System and Visitor Management Systems.
- Identify prohibited items and prevent them from being introduced to or removed from a restricted area.
- Provide complete and accurate shift reports and task handover to Customer Service & Security Supervisor.
- Physical (on foot) and Virtual (on CCTV) patrols of assigned areas and report hazards and incidents.
- Hold a Valid Security License in respective State (Class 1A or equivalent).
- AGSVA Baseline /NV1 clearance requirement.
- Excellent communication skills and observational skills.
- Customer service experience is essential with strong multi-tasking abilities.
- Conflict resolution, negation skills and intermediate PC skills (MS Suite) required.
- Exceptional customer service standards, greet visitors, and employees and assist as required.
- Compliance of all relevant company policies and procedures.
- Protection of premises occupants, protection of real and personal property.
- Report writing and Site patrol duties and experience communicating via two-way radio.
- Must be punctual, responsible and lead by example – support a safety and compliance culture.
