The role of an Educational Leader involves leading the development and implementation of the education program by promoting children's well-being, development, and learning.

As an Educational Leader, you will provide a high quality of care, activities, and educational elements to those in the program, manage and promote a team environment, and work within the organization's philosophy, policies, and procedures.

You will have the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the educational program with the support of Assistant Coordinator/Coordinator
  • Ensure children's learning and development inform the design of the educational program, and Educators facilitate and extend each child's learning and development;
  • Liaise effectively with parents, staff, and all internal and external stakeholders;
  • Mentor and support educators understanding of the educational program and practice including how to reflect on the effectiveness of their programs, interactions, intentional teaching, and other strategies;
  • Ensure compliance with policy;
  • Undertake administrative requirements;
  • Work collaboratively with families and the school community.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent and demonstrated experience in Early Childhood Education;
  • Sound experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting;
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework;
  • An ability to coach and mentor others;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of child development, attachment, learning;
  • An understanding of evidence-based best practice approaches to teaching and learning;
  • A working knowledge of leadership theory and the use of a range of leadership styles;
  • Critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyse and challenge conventional practice and ideas;
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification;
  • A Blue Card
