A successful Azure Data Engineer should possess:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.
  • Proven experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, Azure Functions.
  • Advanced working knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases, query authoring as well as working familiarity with various databases.
Key Responsibilities
  • Strong analytical skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.
  • Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python.

The Successful Applicant will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues.
  • Collaborating with data analysts and data scientists on project goals.
  • Ensuring architecture will support the requirements of the business.
  • Identifying, designing, and implementing process improvements.
  • Automating manual processes, optimising data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.
  • Working with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in data systems.
  • Maintaining data security and compliance within the organisation.
