Making a meaningful difference in people's lives is at the heart of being an NDIS Support Worker. This role offers you the chance to help individuals with disabilities access the support and services they need to live independently, pursue their goals, and enhance their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personalized support to clients based on their tailored NDIS plans.
- Assist clients with everyday activities like eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Offer transportation assistance to clients, promoting their independence and mobility.
- Deliver respite care to clients and their families, providing much-needed breaks and relaxation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care plans and progress, ensuring seamless communication among team members.
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team, fostering strong relationships and trust.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, prioritizing the well-being and safety of clients.
- Attend regular meetings with clients and their families to review and adjust their NDIS plans as needed, guaranteeing continuous improvement.
- Provide training and education to clients and their families on navigating the NDIS system, empowering them to make informed decisions.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest developments and best practices in the NDIS field, enhancing your skills and expertise.
- A minimum of high school or equivalent qualification.
- At least one year of experience working with people with disabilities.
- A deep understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines, enabling you to provide effective support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, allowing you to navigate complex situations effectively.
- Experience with CRM software and NDIS portals, streamlining administrative tasks.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Ability to work with diverse client groups, respecting their unique needs, cultural backgrounds, and language requirements.
- Familiarity with basic care and first aid procedures, providing peace of mind for clients and families.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, enhancing your productivity and efficiency.
