Senior Configuration Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Configuration Management Specialist to join our Defence team. As a key member of our configuration management function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our clients' complex systems.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of configuration management principles, processes, and tools, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, control, and verify system baselines and changes, ensuring compliance with relevant Defence standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of configuration management processes and frameworks.
  • Manage configuration items across the capability lifecycle, ensuring traceability, status accounting, and configuration audits.
  • Support engineering and program teams in identifying, controlling, and verifying system baselines and changes.
  • Maintain and enhance the configuration management database and associated registers.
  • Prepare and review configuration management documentation, such as configuration management plans, change control records, and baseline reports.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior configuration analysts and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the configuration management function.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Information Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in configuration management within a Defence or complex, regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Defence standards, CM tools, and change management frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage configuration control boards, baseline reviews, and audits.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work across disciplines and build stakeholder trust.
