Job Opportunity: Exercise Physiologist - Mental Health

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing specialized assessment, exercise prescription, and health education services to improve physical and mental health in a mental health rehabilitation facility.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver individual and group exercise services to consumers with mental illness to enhance their overall well-being
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, consumers, and support networks to achieve improved health outcomes through personalized care
  • Support the senior exercise physiologist to supervise student clinical placements and develop future professionals in the field
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in an exercise science related field such as sports science or human movement
  • Eligibility for accreditation as an exercise physiologist with ESSA to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Experience in managing physical activity programs for people with chronic conditions and developing tailored exercise plans
  • Strong understanding of the relationship between mental illness and poor physical health to provide holistic care
