Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Underground Mining Professional to join our African operations. The role involves developing local workers' skills and knowledge by sharing your experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Mentor, coach and develop national trades personnel to enhance their technical capabilities.
  • Utilise troubleshooting skills to minimise machinery downtime and optimise operational efficiency.
  • Record and report maintenance activities accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping and workshop organisation.
  • Read and interpret service manuals to stay up-to-date with the latest technical information.
  • Report equipment faults to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Apply proactive attitude and demonstrated passion to achieve safety goals.
  • Train less qualified tradespeople in underground mining environment and promote best practices.
  • Proven background working with SANDVIK, CAT and Atlas equipment is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years post-apprenticeship experience in underground mining industry is essential.
  • High degree of troubleshooting knowledge for electric hydraulic drilling equipment is required.
  • Knowledge of loader and truck maintenance is also essential.

  • A strong commitment to safety and well-being.
  • Experience in training and developing tradespeople to enhance their technical skills.
  • Background working with latest generation equipment and a proven track record of troubleshooting skills.
  • Minimum 5 years post-apprenticeship experience in underground mining is essential.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex problems on electric hydraulic drilling equipment.
  • Knowledge of loader and truck maintenance is also essential.
  • Competency in various mechanical systems is necessary.
