About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Development Director to join our team in Melbourne, Australia. As a key member of our technical development team, you will play a pivotal role in leading the early to mid-stage technical development for offshore wind projects in Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical efforts in market-entry scenarios, with strong project management skills to coordinate multiple workstreams.
  • Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of technical inputs, from regulatory approvals, grid interconnection strategies, port logistics, site investigations, and supply chain planning.
  • Develop and oversee CAPEX estimates and technical DEVEX associated with project delivery.
  • Manage technical packages and coordinate inputs from global teams, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including government authorities, regulators, and partners, to facilitate project progression.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in offshore wind development, including optimizing wind farm solutions based on site conditions, environmental constraints, and logistics.
  • Demonstrated commercial skills, with experience working with business cases, competitive auctions, and contracts.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to the Australian and New Zealand markets, which are currently at a much earlier stage than other mature offshore wind markets.
  • Global mindset and responsiveness to local and remote sparring, inputs, and requests.
