About the Role:
Southern Cross Support Services is seeking a dedicated Residential Care Worker to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing day-to-day care and support to young people in our residential placements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and supervision to young people, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans to support the unique needs of each young person.
- Assist with daily activities, including personal care, education, and recreational activities, to promote a positive and engaging living environment.
- Promote a safe and inclusive living environment, encouraging young people to reach their full potential.
- Build trusting relationships with young people, offering emotional support and guidance to help them navigate life's challenges.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to organisational policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people in a residential or similar care setting (desirable).
- A genuine passion for supporting and empowering young people, with a commitment to providing high-quality care and support.
- Understanding of child development and trauma-informed care practices, with a focus on promoting the well-being and resilience of young people.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to ensure the needs of young people are met at all times.
- Ability to use and access a smartphone for clocking in/out and shift notes, as well as other organisational systems.
