About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to embark on a 4-year apprenticeship program in maintenance fitting.

As an Apprentice Maintenance Fitter, you will have the chance to learn industry best practices and work with a wide variety of food processing/manufacturing plant & equipment.

You will be responsible for participating in safety initiatives, learning industry best practices for preventative maintenance and breakdown activities, and utilizing hand tools, electrical, and pneumatic powered tools & equipment.

You will also have the opportunity to develop your problem-solving skills through hands-on experience and working in a workshop environment and on the production floor.

  • Taking part in safety initiatives to achieve a commitment to safety, health, and wellbeing in the workplace
  • Learning industry best practice for both preventative maintenance and breakdown activities
  • Using hand tools, electrical, and pneumatic powered tools & equipment
  • Developing welding skills (TIG, MIG, MMA)
  • Improving sheet metal fabrication techniques
  • Working in a workshop environment and on the production floor
  • Problem solving and fault finding

Requirements

  • Australian Citizenship or hold formal permanent residency
  • Ability to commence full-time employment
  • Possess a driver's license or hold your Learner's Permit

Benefits

What You Need to Know

Please ensure you have completed school-based engineering modules or have completed work experience within a similar trade. A genuine interest in learning a mechanical fitting trade is essential.

A strong mathematical and English background is required, along with demonstrated problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach. This role requires Australian Citizenship or permanent residency, and the ability to commence full-time employment.

Good basic knowledge of tooling, materials, and mechanical aptitude are also necessary. Possessing a driver's license or Learner's Permit is mandatory for this position.
