Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Chief Backend Developer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality backend systems that meet the needs of our users.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Node.js and experience in designing and scaling APIs in cloud environments. You will work closely with our product and data teams to ensure that our backend systems are aligned with our business goals and objectives.

You will lead high-impact initiatives across authentication, permissions, usage tracking, and integrations, and champion performance, reliability, and testability across backend services. You will also drive cross-functional planning with product, data, and mobile teams.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor engineers and help build technical alignment across squads.

Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience building backend systems, with expert-level Node.js
  • Deep experience designing and scaling APIs in cloud environments (GCP preferred)
  • Proven technical leadership in cross-functional product teams
  • Strength in system architecture, observability, and performance tuning
  • Strong mentorship mindset and collaborative approach
