Ecological Approvals Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Environmental Approvals & Compliance Specialist to oversee environmental systems and compliance on a major infrastructure project.
The ProjectA comprehensive upgrade will deliver seamless connection to North East Link, providing 14 kilometres of new lanes, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, urban design, and landscaping.
Key Responsibilities- Environmental Compliance: Ensure adherence to state and Commonwealth environmental regulations, including management of environmental documentation.
- Environmental Management Systems: Develop and implement the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and associated procedures.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Lead environmental monitoring strategies, compile monthly reports, provide sustainability data, and maintain accurate environmental records.
- Auditing & Inspections: Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits, as well as perform regular inspections to assess environmental performance.
- Risk Management & Incident Response: Identify environmental risks, implement mitigation strategies, and assist with incident reporting and follow-up.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal teams, regulatory authorities, and community groups to support environmental objectives.
- Experience managing environmental approvals and compliance on a major infrastructure project.
- Relevant Environment, Project Management, Planning Qualification.
- Lead Auditor.
- Experience managing teams is desirable.
