Our Advanced Analytics team is part of the Data Analytics Customer Centre of Excellence within the Customer Product & Marketing department. This team is responsible for building, maintaining and enhancing analytics assets that deliver insights and unlock opportunities at both strategic and operational levels.

We are seeking a Senior Analytics Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will apply advanced technical expertise and commercial acumen to develop high-impact models that optimize customer-level decisioning while translating complex data into actionable insights that align with the broader strategy of the Customer business unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and build advanced data assets and machine learning models to support strategic business initiatives
  • Unlock and integrate diverse data sources to enhance model sophistication and analytics capabilities
  • Develop semantic models to standardize metrics and enable self-service analytics across teams
  • Monitor and maintain model performance, ensuring alignment with business expectations and compliance standards
  • Deliver actionable insights through dashboards, presentations, and stakeholder engagement
  • Collaborate across business units to demonstrate the impact of analytics on operational and market outcomes
Requirements:
  • A recognized university degree in a statistical or technical domain (Mathematics, Econometrics, Data Science etc) or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, Spark, Visualisation Tools (e.g. Tableau/Power BI)
  • Experience in the energy industry preferred, or relevant regulatory environment with the ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholders to deliver accurate work on time
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work through ambiguous problems in a structured manner
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. A collaborative thought leader with the ability to deliver technical information and consultancy to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work across all parts of the analytics pipeline from engineering to model operationalization
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences
