The Family Led Decision Making Specialist will play a critical role in delivering an accountable, effective, and culturally strong FLDM service to reduce the disproportionate representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in the child protection system.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families who come into contact with the Child Protection system, providing high-quality case management practices and meeting case performance targets.
- Empower families through targeted interventions to have improved meaningful involvement in Child Protection decisions that affect their lives.
- Act as a conduit and lead case worker for all Child Safety matters involving the family being supported.
- Lead the direct integration with the Family Support System and internal ATSICHS services.
ATSICHS Brisbane is a community-controlled organization that values cultural responsiveness and social justice. We are committed to creating a work environment that is inclusive, respectful, and supportive of our employees and the communities we serve.
Requirements- Current Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Social Science, Health, Allied Health, Youth Work, Community Services, Family Intervention, or Criminology with 4 years' relevant experience in family support, child protection, youth support, or a related field.
- Or, a current Diploma in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services, Child and Family, Allied Health, Youth Work, Child and Family Intervention with 5 years' relevant experience in family support, child protection, youth support, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a case management role, with demonstrated ability to meet client performance targets, apply a high level of practice judgment, and work with culturally and socially diverse clients.
- Brief intervention counseling skills.
- Previous experience in a family support and advocacy role.
- A permanent full-time position.
- A starting annual salary of $93,800 (depending on qualifications and experience).
- 11.5% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (increases your take-home pay).
- Work for a community-controlled organization.
