Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Resident Medical Officer to join our multidisciplinary team at North Canberra Hospital. As a key member of our Hospital in the Home (HITH) service, you will provide high-quality medical care to patients in their own homes, working closely with registrars and consultants to manage complex cases.

About the Role:

This is a 12-month temporary position, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. As a Senior Resident Medical Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical support to registrars and consultants in the management of patients
  • Applying medical knowledge and experience in the diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and ongoing management of patients
  • Maintaining effective communication with patients, relatives, hospital staff, medical colleagues, and community care providers
  • Ensuring medical records are accurately updated and contributing to quality assurance and research activities within the unit
