BIM Project Coordinator Job Description

WT Partnership is seeking a highly skilled BIM Project Coordinator to join our team in Sydney or Brisbane. As a BIM Project Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting the BIM Manager in advancing our Building Information Modeling capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the BIM Manager in developing and implementing BIM project workflows.
  • Coordinate with various project stakeholders to ensure consistent application of BIM processes.
  • Support the integration of BIM technology with other digital engineering initiatives within the organization.
  • Maintain the BIM standards across projects, including templates, libraries, and model management.
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of the company's BIM documentation and standards.
  • Provide training and support to project teams in BIM processes and tools.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in BIM technologies and processes, and organize upskilling sessions for the team as necessary.
  • Perform clash detection, and resolve issues between different service models.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure BIM tools are effectively integrated into the wider digital strategy.
  • Liaise with external parties including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to facilitate the smooth exchange of BIM data.
  • Monitor the use and performance of BIM on projects and report on progress and issues.
  • Ensure that all BIM data is stored in line with the company's data management and security protocols.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in BIM coordination, ideally within a construction or quantity surveying environment.
  • Proficiency with BIM software such as Revit, Dynamo, Navisworks, and other Autodesk products.
  • Understanding of BIM processes and technology with a strong grasp of the associated risks and benefits.
  • Demonstrated experience in IFC / openBIM.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with digital twins and integration with BIM.
  • Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Python for BIM automation is highly regarded.
  • Experience with Revizto, Navisworks, Solibri would be desirable.
  • Experience with CostX.
  • Understanding of post-Keynesian economics for the application of cost planning and analysis in BIM.
