About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Crisis Support Worker to join our team in Toowoomba. As a key member of our Domestic & Family Violence Crisis Accommodation program, you will provide end-to-end support to clients, empowering them to overcome barriers and achieve stability in their lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver holistic support to clients, including case management, advice, referral, and advocacy
  • Work with clients to access safe, affordable, and stable accommodation, and provide assistance to sustain current and future tenancies
  • Collaborate with clients to increase skills and improve overall quality of life, addressing complex needs and risk factors
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity
Requirements
  • Minimum Certificate III in Community Services or related field
  • Knowledge of and ability to work within relevant legislation and guidelines relating to specialist homelessness services
  • Previous experience as a Support Worker or equivalent within the homelessness support sector or related field
  • Ability to deliver advocacy on behalf of clients and maintain confidentiality
  • Effective communication and time management skills, with a willingness to learn and adapt
  • Demonstrate a friendly, positive attitude, with a genuine respect for all people
