Leader in Transport & Logistics Seeks Experienced Operations Expert

We are seeking an accomplished Operations Manager to join our well-established team on a full-time basis. Our client provides rail to road, dry freight, refrigerated and bulk freight services across Australia.

About the Role:

  • Our ideal candidate will lead and promote a culture focused on injury prevention, workplace health and safety (WHS), and environmental compliance.
  • They will define and manage annual WHS performance goals, ensuring delivery on key metrics such as LTI, LTIFR, MTI, MTIFR, and adherence to incident management standards.
  • The successful candidate will strengthen inter-state processes and collaboration to ensure optimal service delivery to our customer base.
  • They will foster a consistent, standards-driven operational culture grounded in discipline and accountability.
  • They will drive continuous improvement and operational excellence by ensuring system compliance and embracing innovation.
  • They will promote accountability by implementing clear role definitions and conducting regular performance evaluations.
  • They will cultivate a culture of strategic thinking, initiative, and exemplary behaviour across the team.
  • They will actively source and hire top-tier talent aligned with our organization's values and strategic objectives.
  • They will lead the development and execution of a performance-driven employee recognition and rewards program.

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5+ years' experience in Senior Operational Management role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading large, cross-functional teams across diverse operational settings.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities and overseeing cost centers.
  • Hands-on experience in leading Work Health and Safety (WHS) committees and driving safety initiatives.
  • Proven success in engaging with unions and leading enterprise agreement (EA) negotiations.
  • Strong background in customer relationship management and key account development.
