At Centacare Family and Relationship Services, we are seeking a dedicated Practitioner to deliver high-quality support services to individuals, couples, children, and families across the community.

About The Role

In this varied and rewarding position, you will provide professional counselling and support services to those facing complex challenges such as domestic and family violence, separation, trauma, or parenting difficulties.

  • Deliver trauma-informed, client-centred counselling and brief intervention services
  • Facilitate therapeutic and psycho-educational groups
  • Manage intake and assessment processes
  • Maintain high standards of record keeping, data collection, and reporting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, planning, and evaluation activities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure holistic care
  • Actively participate in supervision, training, and professional development opportunities
About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience in contemporary counselling techniques (e.g., solution-focused, trauma-informed, family systems)
  • Strong understanding of Domestic & Family Violence, Child Protection, and Family Law
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and proficiency with data and case management systems

Essential requirements include:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences
  • Eligibility for professional membership with APS, AASW or similar
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtain
  • Australian Work Rights and Federal Police Check (or ability to obtain)
