About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Perioperative Services team at Northern Beaches Hospital. As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will be responsible for orientating, inducting, and briefing new staff, graduates, and students to the facility and their roles and responsibilities during rotations and clinical placements. You will also ensure the safety of patients and staff through the maintenance of safe practice and assist graduates and staff to apply problem-solving and reflective skills in their clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff and ensure compliance with mandatory training
  • Provide written clinical assessment reports for graduate nurses
  • Conduct Continuing Professional Development sessions
  • Identify the learning needs of staff within the specialty

Requirements

  • Current registration as a nurse with AHPRA
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field of specialty or working towards
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in perioperative services
  • Extensive clinical skills and experience working in a perioperative suite
  • Passion for quality and performance improvement initiatives
  • Ability to coach, mentor, supervise, and provide preceptorship
  • Hands-on teaching approach
  • High level of planning and organizing skills
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • High degree of computer literacy
