The Town of Victoria Park is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rates Officer to join our team in a full-time capacity. As a Rates Officer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to ratepayers, while ensuring accurate and timely processing of rates-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level assistance and support to the rates department, including responding to ratepayer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process rates-related tasks, including calculating and issuing rates notices, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with ratepayers, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and regulations, and ensure compliance with all rates-related policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of rates-related projects and initiatives, and provide input on process improvements.
Requirements
  • Experience in Local Government rating procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with ratepayers and internal stakeholders.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present reports and other documentation.
  • Strong numeracy skills, with the ability to accurately calculate and process rates-related tasks.
  • Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in relevant software applications.
