As a Data Center Rack Operations Trainee, you'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.
The Decommissioning Technical team is responsible for processing and facilitating large scale legacy Data Center equipment through a liquidation process to ensure that targeted equipment is ready to be removed from the premises. Team members will also process large volumes of customer data to ensure that all customer data is sanitized and properly managed.
Key Responsibilities:- Decommissioning Legacy IT Hardware: You'll work with decommissioned equipment, ensuring it's safely removed and disposed of in accordance with Amazon's strict policies and procedures.
- Operating Destruction Machinery: Our team relies on your expertise to operate HDD and SSD destruction machinery, ensuring sensitive customer data is securely erased.
- Hardware Installation and Removal: You'll be responsible for installing, removing, and destroying server, storage, and network devices, following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Documentation and Progress Updates: You'll maintain accurate records of your activities, updating progress through a web ticketing system and documenting procedures as needed.
- Lifting Equipment: This position requires physical stamina, enabling you to lift and rack equipment using our lifting equipment.
