Logistics Engineer Job Description

The Logistics Engineer will work to improve warehouse business operations by identifying process improvements and implementing changes.

The ideal candidate has experience in industrial engineering or a related field, as well as knowledge of Lean and Kaizen methodologies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Improving processes across contract logistics warehouses
  • Delivering project improvements through process re-engineering and redesigning operational layouts
  • Providing guidance and support to sites to enable successful Kaizen activities
  • Developing and maintaining Business Process Excellence tools
  • Guiding operations teams to achieve target levels on site accreditation programs
Requirements

The successful Logistics Engineer candidate must have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in industrial engineering or a related field
  • Solid experience gained in a related role in any industry
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with utilising process improvement tools, Kaizen, Lean, etc.
  • Clear communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations
  • Strong MS Excel skills including use of VLOOKUPS, pivot tables (bonus: VBA, Macros)
  • Bonus: AutoCAD or similar
