Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled commercial litigation and insolvency lawyer to join our Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial litigation and insolvency, with experience in Supreme, District, and Federal Court.

Responsibilities will include handling commercial disputes, drafting pleadings and particulars, instructing experts, briefing counsel, preparing and attending hearings, and attending settlement/mediation conferences.

Direct client contact is expected, along with the ability to understand complex transaction structures and manage competing priorities.

Experience in commercial or insolvency litigation within our core areas is essential.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Four + years post-admission experience working in demonstrated commercial litigation matters;
  • Drafting pleadings and particulars and affidavit evidence, instructing experts, briefing Counsel, preparing and attending hearings and attending settlement/mediation conferences;
  • Ability to understand complex transaction structures and manage competing priorities of clients/files/procedures/billing/professional development etc.;
  • Experience in Supreme, District and Federal Court;
  • High attention to detail;
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels;
  • Strong research and analysis skills with an ability to apply critical thinking;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Dedication to providing excellence in client services;
  • Flexible approach to clients and colleagues;
  • Strong academic background;
  • Willingness to mentor and lead junior staff.
