About the Role

This is an outstanding opportunity to lead and manage a diverse portfolio of commercial litigation matters, from pre-litigation to trial and beyond. As a key member of our team, you'll provide strategic legal advice to clients on a range of commercial disputes, including contracts, breaches of warranty, shareholder disputes, and insolvency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead complex commercial disputes, providing expert guidance to clients throughout the litigation process.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to achieve client objectives, whether through negotiation, mediation, or court proceedings.
  • Draft and review pleadings, legal documents, and correspondence to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough research and prepare detailed case summaries and memoranda to support client interests.
  • Represent clients in court, mediations, and arbitrations, showcasing your expertise and advocating effectively for their needs.
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them grow professionally.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Admission to practice in Australia, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial litigation.
  • A strong understanding of Australian commercial law and relevant case law.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal issues clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to think critically and develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
