Portfolio Management Opportunity

The Portfolio Manager is accountable for overseeing a diverse range of fixed income mandates, encompassing government bonds, corporate bonds, mortgage-backed securities and other debt instruments.

  • Develop and maintain investment portfolios to meet specific return, duration and risk targets.
  • Prepare in-depth advisory reports and provide expert recommendations on new investment opportunities and funds that could enhance or diversify existing portfolios.
  • Closely monitor economic trends and assess their impact on the existing fixed income portfolio holdings.
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of issuers and possess familiarity with credit ratings (Moody's, S&P, Fitch) and internal credit models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive improvements in the Strategic Asset Allocation framework and ensure alignment of fixed income investments with life insurance liabilities.
  • Serve as a key resource and provide oversight of quantitative applications to portfolios (SAA, Manager Selection, Risk, Attribution, Factor).
  • Enhance and/or develop sections of the Investment committee process.
  • Maintain accurate compliance monitoring to ensure adherence to procedures and control checks.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in investment management, preferably with exposure to insurance, defined benefit or other liability matching.
  • Proven track record in managing or assisting fixed income portfolios.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science or Quantitative disciplines.
  • Desirable: CFA / Masters or Actuarial training.
