RoleAs a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing innovative ground improvement solutions across various geotechnical engineering projects. You will lead the development of cost-effective, sustainable designs while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Geotechnical Analysis: Analyze geotechnical investigation data (including in-situ and laboratory test results) to develop a comprehensive understanding of ground conditions at project sites and derive relevant geotechnical parameters.
- Design Development: Lead the development of preliminary, conceptual, and detailed designs for ground improvement solutions, ensuring timely delivery and technical accuracy.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop project-specific solutions, prepare design reports, and provide on-site support to ensure that construction aligns with the design requirements.
- Complex Numerical Analysis: Conduct complex numerical analyses for ground improvement, reinforcement, foundations, and retaining walls during tender, design, and construction stages.
- Mentorship and Guidance: Mentor and guide junior engineers and site engineers in interpreting design models and understanding geotechnical engineering principles.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Masters degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
- Experience: 6-8 years of civil engineering design experience, with a strong focus on geotechnical and soil mechanics.
- Design Management: Proven experience managing preliminary, conceptual, and detailed designs, and delivering within tight deadlines.
- Geotechnical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of geotechnical ground improvement techniques, including but not limited to CMC, Jet Grouting, Anchoring, Stone Columns, Vibro Compaction, Deep Soil Mixing, Slurry Walls, Dynamic Compaction, and Grouting.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in industry-standard software such as PLAXIS and SLOPE-W; advanced to expert-level skills in Visual Basic and Excel.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in French is highly advantageous due to interactions with the international design team.
