Boundary Protection Specialist

This role requires a highly skilled professional to provide boundary protection support for the Air Force Intranet Control (AFINC) III Support program. The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting AFNet resources from internal and external threats in accordance with DoD security standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, upgrade, patch, harden, maintain, and operate intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewalls, load balancers, and web proxies.
  • Perform complex analytics on boundary protection systems to safeguard system assets from compromise, data loss, and other risks.
  • Perform DCO and DODIN operations.
Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 7+ years' experience in network administration and support is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is also necessary. Additionally, Security+ and Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) certifications are mandatory. Holding a Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) certification is preferred. Experience with enterprise DOD boundary protection and CSSP operations is essential. Extensive knowledge of enterprise-level network architectures and configurations is also required. Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions are crucial. Experience with network monitoring and management using automated solutions is necessary. Furthermore, extensive experience with security-related aspects of network architecture, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS) is required. Excellent communication and customer service skills are also essential.
