Insurance Risk Management Specialist

This role presents a valuable opportunity to support the management of insurance-specific risks, while also contributing to the broader financial risk landscape.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting on insurance-related risks, as well as collaborating with senior leaders to embed effective risk management practices throughout the organisation.
- Key responsibilities include designing and evolving how insurance risk is understood and managed across the business.
- Championing a culture where risk is seen as a business enabler, not just a control function.
- Providing technical expertise to engage stakeholders and influence strategic conversations.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in risk management, with a strong background in general insurance industry.
- Relevant tertiary education in quantitative fields such as Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting or Economics.
- Knowledge of APRA prudential regulation and other relevant regulatory requirements impacting the insurance industry.
- Proven experience in developing risk reporting for various levels of the business, including the Board.
- High impact presentation skills, demonstrated leadership abilities, and the capacity to think strategically.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
