Insurance Risk Specialist

This role drives the identification, assessment, and management of insurance-specific risks while contributing to the broader financial risk landscape. A key aspect is to evolve how insurance risk is understood and managed across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Develop strategies to enhance the understanding and management of insurance risk within the organization.
- Lead a culture where risk is viewed as an opportunity for growth rather than a control function.
- Apply technical expertise to facilitate stakeholder engagement and develop effective risk management solutions.
- Engage senior leaders and subject matter experts to promote strategic conversations around insurance risk.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in risk management, preferably in the general insurance industry.
- Relevant tertiary education in quantitative fields such as Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements impacting the insurance industry, including APRA prudential regulation.
- Experience in developing comprehensive risk reports for various stakeholders, including the Board.
- Exceptional presentation and leadership skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive results.
- Strong influencing and leadership abilities, with a proven track record of engaging with cross-functional teams.
