Clinical Advisor Medical

Job Description:


We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Advisor to lead the establishment of clinical policies, procedures and governance structures for a new business unit. This role will be responsible for developing a clinical capability framework to improve role and skill matching, ensuring a high performing locum workforce.


The ideal candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications in Medicine, experience in medical administration and management or related comparable experience. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders and navigate complex stakeholder environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing clinical policies and processes and a clinical governance structure to support a high performing locum medical workforce.
  • Developing a suite of tools to support locum career development and wellbeing.
  • Providing advice regarding opportunities to expand, collaborate or support other medical engagement and recruitment initiatives across NSW Health.

Requirements:


The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Medicine.
  • Demonstrated experience in innovation and change, quality improvement, process design or program development, ideally in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience navigating healthcare and government policy and regulations, preferably within the NSW health system or similar large healthcare environments.

This is a temporary role with potential for ongoing employment at grade. The Senior Clinical Advisor (Medical) will engage in consultations and briefings with clinical and operational leaders across the NSW Health system, as well as medical officers, locum doctors and other stakeholders to ensure this new service delivers a safe, quality and consistent experience for doctors and LHDs.
