Community Engagement plays a pivotal role in driving diversity and belonging within the education sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating community outreach initiatives that foster inclusive environments for underrepresented cohorts.

About the Role

The successful candidate will support the delivery and execution of our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategy by coordinating activities targeting women, non-binary and gender diverse people, those from low socioeconomic status backgrounds, UNSW Gateway schools, and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement community outreach initiatives and activities targeting underrepresented cohorts.
  • Establish and manage strategic partnerships within the university, as well as with external stakeholders, to leverage activities enhancing collective impact.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of project plans and schedules, contributing to planning processes for key initiatives and activities.
  • Monitor, track, and report on project deliverables to ensure time, cost, and quality metrics align with approved project plans.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification with extensive experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in fostering student engagement and crafting programs/initiatives aimed at enhancing skills and cultivating a sense of community among participants.
  • A passion for the engineering sector and equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Substantial project and event coordination experience, including ability to plan, implement, and coordinate complex projects and report on outcomes.
  • Engagement and stakeholder management skills, including ability to establish long-term relationships with student, academic, and external stakeholders.
