Community Outreach Coordinator

The Community Outreach Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering connections within local communities, with a focus on reducing social isolation and promoting access to vital services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster positive relationships with participants, carers, and community stakeholders to facilitate effective service delivery.
  • Collaborate with service providers to develop knowledge of local resources and ensure seamless referral pathways for participants.
  • Manage a caseload based on predetermined targets and outcomes, utilizing online data entry platforms for regular reporting.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance expertise in community development, mental health, and related areas.

About This Role:

This is an ongoing contract position classified at SCHADS Level 4. The successful candidate will be based in the Metropolitan Adelaide region and work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.

Requirements for Success:

  • DHS Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Check.
  • Qualifications relevant to mental health, group work facilitation, or equivalent experience in community settings.
  • Sound knowledge of mental illness, including psychosocial disability, and related comorbidities.
  • Experience in community development principles, partnerships, and capacity building.
  • Understanding of strength-based, trauma-informed, and goal-oriented recovery from mental health challenges.
  • Familiarity with the NDIS, particularly access and requirements.
