Master Tradesperson

Analyzes and responds in a self-directed manner to requests for services encompassing various electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, vinyling, and heating/cooling functions.

Performs preventative maintenance and completes records for main systems; air conditioning, plumbing, electrical systems.

Conducts safety checks; orders necessary supplies and equipment; performs related tasks.

• Four years of trade school training with instruction in areas including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, electronics, and general mechanical maintenance
• Six years of experience in general maintenance work covering areas such as: plumbing, electrical, electronics, HVAC, painting, vinyling, and carpentry. Alternatively, two years of general maintenance experience in one or more of the above skill areas

• Ability to be on feet for extended periods
• May require working in reaching or strained positions, pushing, pulling, and lifting light to heavy weight objects
• Strong team player able to understand and execute responsibilities within a collaborative environment
• Ability to comprehend and implement patient care vision at Summa; creating a patient care environment centered around customer needs and expectations
• Self-motivated individual capable of executing responsibilities independently within a team structure
• Exposure to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, and prolonged hours (due to emergencies)
• Exposure to potential hazards from improper use of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and power equipment, toxic chemicals, and gases, etc.
