About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our team at Tropicana Gold Mine. This is a challenging opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to lead and contribute to the development of ventilation strategies, projects, and infrastructure.

This role will involve working closely with the Underground team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the mine. You will be responsible for producing ventilation plans and strategies that meet budget physicals and align with the mine plan and strategy.

You will also provide leadership and direction to the Ventilation Technician Team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.

As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in achieving the portfolio's objectives and meeting quality standards, including cost, safety, and environment.

This is a permanent position, accountable to the Underground Manager, and offered on an appealing 4 days on/3 days off FIFO roster with a quick commute from Perth.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the development of ventilation strategies, projects, and infrastructure
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to the Ventilation Technician Team members
  • Ensure compliance with safety and planning requirements within the underground mining alliance
  • Manage contractors and infrastructure projects
  • Implement improvement projects
  • Hold the Ventilation Officer appointment on site

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in underground production, ventilation, and planning practices
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Effective time management and decision-making skills
  • Existing Permanent working rights in Australia (we are able to consider those currently in Australia with existing 482 Employer sponsorship visas in place)
  • Underground Ventilation Officer Certificate of Competency, or willingness and ability to obtain competency
