About the Role

The NSW Department of Communities and Justice is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Child Protection Caseworker. This role involves working with vulnerable children, young people, and families to provide support and guidance in times of need.

As a Child Protection Caseworker, you will be responsible for responding to reports of safety concerns surrounding children or young people who may have been harmed. You will work collaboratively with other agencies, engage in complex problem-solving, and develop safety plans and risk assessments.

You will also manage cases and situations, including working with high-needs and high-risk clients and their families. Additionally, you will be involved in court processes, including preparing court documents and attending court.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to build positive working relationships. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families, we encourage you to apply.

  • A completed or almost-completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, and Welfare, along with practical experience.
  • Other related degrees are considered if you can demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • A valid driver's license (P1 or above).
  • A paid working with children clearance number.
