Position Overview

This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the future of finance education at The University of Newcastle.

You will provide educational leadership across the Course, Program, Discipline, School, and University levels, driving innovative program and course development.

You will lead or significantly contribute to the implementation of the discipline's research strategy, maintaining a strong national and international profile, and attracting external funding.

You will mentor early career researchers and supervise higher degree research (RHD) students.

You will maintain meaningful networks and industry partnerships that facilitate research and innovation, and work-integrated learning and graduate employment opportunities.

You will lead or significantly contribute to governance, administration, professional service, and external engagement at the School, College, and University levels.

About You

We are seeking an established professional with a PhD in Finance or a related area, with substantial experience in teaching and research, including a strong record of published work and successful student supervision.

You will demonstrate evidence of designing and developing new curricula in finance or with an emphasis on learning to prepare students as career-ready graduates and authentic assessment.

You will demonstrate evidence of successful track record of grants received and applications developed in the area of finance.

You will demonstrate evidence of successful engagement with industry stakeholders to inform teaching and research.

You will demonstrate evidence of incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into teaching and research.

Remuneration and Benefits

The remuneration for this position is from $166,260 - $183, % super + leave loading.
