The Advanced Trainee Emergency role is an exciting opportunity for a medical professional to join our team and develop their skills in emergency medicine.

Job Overview:

This 6-month term position based in Melbourne involves assessing and treating presentations to the emergency department under supervision from senior doctors.

You will be part of the Emergency Department team and report to the Clinical Director, the Directors of EM training and the medical team leader on shift.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently assess and manage multiple patients under supervision of seniors
  • Independently prioritise a set of decisions/tasks/referrals for multiple patients

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with patients and Colleagues
  • Ability to lead by being a positive role model to junior staff
  • Able to direct immediate and future learning, informed with reflective practice and role model influences
  • Ability to take responsibility for self-directed learning and participating in departmental teaching to further clinical knowledge and skills
  • Actively teach junior staff the clinical skills expected of a novice clinician
Requirements:
  • General registration with APHRA
  • Valid ACLS/APLS certificates
  • TS3/4 trainee with ACEM
