This role offers the chance to work in a high-acuity Emergency Department, lead a dedicated multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the ongoing development of a regional trauma service.
About the Role Provide high-quality specialist emergency medical care in a busy regional EDDeliver clinical leadership during shifts to ensure optimal patient outcomes Supervise and mentor Registrars, Junior Medical Officers, and medical students Collaborate with other GV Health specialists and support out-of-hours coverage (including weekends)Contribute to strategic planning, service development, and quality improvement at GV Health Please note: this position is not suitable for applicants on the specialist pathway with limited registration.
Emergency Department Facilities36-bed Emergency Department including: Designated regional trauma service with a diverse and high-acuity case mix3 state-of-the-art resuscitation bays2 negative pressure isolation cubicles13 acute care cubicles Dedicated Fast Track area with 7 cubicles and a consult room9-bed Short Stay Unit (including an isolation room)Onsite CT, ultrasound, and X-ray facilities Behavioural Assessment Room, mental health consult rooms, and forensic suite Requirements Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine Current Specialist Registration with AHPRADemonstrated leadership, teaching, and supervision experience Commitment to delivering best practice, patient-centred emergency care Willingness to work in a progressive, growing regional trauma service Experience with teaching and medical education Live in Shepparton, a vibrant regional hub just 2 hours from Melbourne, with excellent schools, cultural amenities, and lifestyle opportunities.
