About the Role

The Project Engineer (E&I) will play a crucial role in the delivery of complex projects at Bravus' Carmichael Mine Industrial Area. This position requires a strong technical background in electrical engineering and project management, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution
    • Develop project scopes, objectives, and deliverables for Electrical and Instrumentation projects, in alignment with operational needs and strategic goals.
    • Conduct engineering analyses, and cost estimates to support project planning and decision-making, ensuring alignment with budgetary and timeline constraints.
  • Design and Implementation
    • Oversee the design and implementation of Electrical and Instrumentation systems, equipment upgrades, and installations, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and clearances for project execution.
  • Project Management
    • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure timely project delivery within budget constraints, while minimising risks and disruptions to ongoing operations.
    • Oversee construction activities, conduct regular site inspections, and monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety protocols, and project requirements.
  • Commissioning and Training
    • Oversee the development and implementation of commissioning plans, startup procedures, and performance testing protocols for new or upgraded Electrical and Instrumentation systems, ensuring smooth integration and optimal performance.
    • Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance teams during commissioning, startup, and operation of Electrical and Instrumentation systems, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Document project progress, issues, and lessons learned, and prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for management review and decision-making.
  • Professional Development
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Electrical & Instrumentation engineering to continuously improve project delivery processes and outcomes.
Requirements

The successful applicant will have a strong technical background in electrical engineering and project management, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering design and/or construction, with a focus on industrial projects.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and components commonly used in mining operations, including crushers, conveyors, pumps, and HVAC systems.
    • Proficiency in project management software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
