Role OverviewThe Senior Solutions Architect will be responsible for defining the overall technical architecture for the digital transformation program, ensuring that solutions align with the agency's strategic objectives and technology standards. This role requires extensive collaboration with stakeholders across the organisation, including business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors, to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain the overall architectural vision and roadmap for the digital transformation program.
- Design end-to-end solutions that meet business requirements, are cost-effective, and adhere to industry best practices.
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into comprehensive technical solutions.
- Lead the selection and integration of new digital platforms, tools, and technologies to enhance the agency's capabilities.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to project teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and optimised for performance, adhering to architectural principles and standards.
- Work closely with cybersecurity teams to ensure solutions are compliant with relevant security policies and regulations.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and methodologies to support the agency's digital transformation objectives.
- Conduct architectural reviews and assessments to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
- Extensive experience in solutions architecture, with a focus on digital transformation and cloud technologies.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and best practices.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience with microservices architecture, APIs, and integration patterns.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and data protection regulations.
- Proven experience leading complex, large-scale digital transformation projects, ideally within the public sector.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in solutions architecture or a similar role.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
