Position Overview:

Calvary Care invites applications from experienced researchers to join our palliative care team as a Senior Research Fellow. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing the field of palliative care through innovative research and collaboration.

  • This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development of palliative care research, working closely with clinicians, researchers, and other stakeholders to drive positive change.
Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Research Fellow will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert support to clinician researchers in current and planned research projects, collaborating with palliative care leadership to further research capability and frameworks, and fostering collaborative partnerships.

In addition, the successful candidate will:

  • Contribute to a culture of collaborative research within a clinical setting, providing mentorship and leadership to current and emerging clinician researchers.
  • Foster early career researchers in the department to enable collaborative research and quality improvement activities across the multidisciplinary team.

The Senior Research Fellow will also:

  • Develop a multidisciplinary departmental collaborative network to facilitate education and development of research capabilities in team members.
  • Collaborate on aspects of departmental research including mentoring staff, identifying clinically relevant research projects, monitoring external funding opportunities, coordinating grant applications, developing research project plans, and enabling staff skill development in ethics processes.
About You:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD or Research Master's degree in a field relevant to Palliative Care, or other postgraduate qualifications with advanced skills in relevant research areas.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the coordination of research projects and patient-centred translational research in palliative care or a related field.
  • Experience in designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative research projects, as well as track record in funding, grant, and/or tender submissions.
  • High-level computer skills, database management, and interpretive statistical analysis.
  • A proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, present research findings at conferences, and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
