About the Role:
The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a highly skilled Medical Practitioner to join our dynamic team within the Critical Care Division. This exciting opportunity offers a unique chance to enhance your expertise in Emergency Ultrasound Special Skills Rotation.
As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to patients in critical situations. Utilising your advanced ultrasound skills, you will contribute to accurate and timely diagnoses, enabling swift and effective treatment plans.
This position requires a diverse skill set, including proficiency in emergency ultrasound techniques, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering compassionate patient care. You will work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, collaborating to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and well-being.
About the Position:
The Medical Practitioner will be responsible for enhancing their skills in emergency ultrasound, working closely with a senior emergency consultant and experienced staff. The successful candidate will have access to a dedicated ultrasound machine and a variety of other machines, allowing experience across a broad range of machine types and manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve proficiency in the "core" ACEM modules, including EFAST, AAA, FELS, lung, and procedural needle guidance.
- Exposure to extended applications and uses of ultrasound, including full abdomen, DVT and vascular, MSK and soft tissue, nerve and regional blocks, more comprehensive echocardiography, limited gynae and obstetric, foreign body identification, and ocular.
- Involved in quality improvement processes and education, completing a project and presenting it at a scientific conference or submitting it for journal publication.
- Integral to this post is image review, reporting, and record keeping, with a focus on managerial aspects of running an ultrasound program.
