Macquarie University is seeking a skilled Cyber Security Incident Manager to oversee the continuous improvement of cyber security risk management for the University and its entities.
This fixed-term role involves managing incident response activities, conducting reviews and analysis, and documenting architecture and design documents to address security concerns with stakeholders. You will also collaborate with internal teams to diagnose issues and present resolutions.
As a key member of our cyber security team, you will be responsible for:
- Understanding root causes of incidents and providing effective resolutions;
- Managing penetration testing and auditing using commonly known tools and techniques;
- Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve cyber security concerns and ensuring accurate issue diagnosis and resolution presentation.
Key requirements include proven experience in managing cybersecurity incident response activities, expertise in cloud environments, and proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Bash, PowerShell, and Python.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, ability to translate technical jargon into simple language, and strong understanding of foundational cybersecurity concepts.
