Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing reactive incident response functions, including host-based analysis, to identify Indicators of Compromise (IOCs)
  • Examining firewall, web, database, and other log sources to detect evidence of malicious activity
  • Investigating data breaches using forensics tools, such as EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, SIFT, Splunk, and custom Crypsis investigation tools
  • Managing incident response engagements to scope work, guide clients through forensic investigations, contain security incidents, and provide guidance on longer-term remediation recommendations
  • Traveling as needed to meet business demands (approximately 20%): Mentoring team members in incident response and forensics best practices - A potential mentorship position for those with ambition and growth goals

Qualifications and requirements include:

  • Professional experience in incident response or digital forensics consulting with a passion for cybersecurity
  • Leadership skills, including experience managing teams or individuals, or the potential to grow into such a role
  • Proficiency in host-based forensics and data breach response
  • Experience with leading complicated engagements, including scoping, interfacing with clients, and executing technical tasks
  • Incident response consulting experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent military experience
