PhD Researcher in Efficient Microcomb Communications

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at Monash University to work on a project focused on using microcombs to improve the efficiency of optical communication systems.

Project Overview

Our research aims to develop novel ways to simplify the way we run communication systems, toward low-energy, multi-terabit-per-second optical interfaces. This project has the scope to blend optical physics with communication engineering, and can suit candidates with a background in Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on the physics of optical microcombs and their applications in communication systems
  • Develop and implement novel methods for improving the efficiency of optical communication systems
  • Collaborate with local academics and international industrial partners to advance the state-of-the-art in microcomb technology

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field
  • Strong background in optics, photonics, and/or communications engineering
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
