Job Summary

The Procurement Specialist will provide clerical, data entry, and purchasing support for all purchasing needs within the Interface business, excluding raw material procurement and related supply chain requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the formulation, development, and implementation of purchasing strategies to meet business requirements for assurance of supply, quality, service, cost, and regulatory requirements.
  • Place purchase orders with suppliers and enter POs into the database.
  • Reconcile POs to invoices in the ERP system.
  • Follow up with suppliers to investigate queries and resolve issues.
  • Maintain supplier databases, including supplier contact details, references, and other relevant information.
  • Liaise with Accounts Payable to reconcile invoices and enter them into the ERP system.
  • Improve systems and processes to deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness of service to both internal customers and external suppliers.
  • Assist in the implementation and routine update of the company's procurement policy.
  • Ensure compliance with all SOX requirements relating to procurement and report deficiencies to the Financial Controller.
  • Provide summary of goods received with no invoice for finance to accrue into financial results.
  • Support the Departmental Manager in issuing supplier tenders and managing the tender process for large tenders.
  • Demonstrate safe working behaviors.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications or similar in business or a relevant field.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Suite (Word and Excel).
  • At least 2 years of experience in procurement in an office environment.
  • JD Edwards (ERP) financial system experience or experience with a similar ERP.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player.
