Aston Advantage seeks an experienced and skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Queensland. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of drill rigs, support vehicles, generators, compressors, and other heavy equipment.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is hands-on and willing to tackle complex issues with confidence. You will work on a variety of tasks, including repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting, using your technical skills and expertise to ensure our equipment is running efficiently and effectively.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is estimated to be between $40 - $60 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive hourly rate, we offer flexible rosters, including 21 days on and 8 days off or even-time in the workshop. We also provide flights, accommodation, and meals while working in the field.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a trade qualification or equivalent experience in a related field. It's essential that you have excellent technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations. You must also be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Description Format
  • Maintenance and Repair of Drill Rigs and Support Vehicles:
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations
    • Repair and replace faulty parts, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnosis:
    • Identify and diagnose problems with equipment using technical knowledge and diagnostic tools
    • Develop and implement effective solutions to resolve issues
  • Workshop and Field Operations:
    • Work in a fast-paced workshop environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively
    • Travel to remote locations for fieldwork, working safely and efficiently in challenging conditions
