We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our Mackay Operations Team in Queensland, Australia. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing heavy machinery for one of our prominent clients.

Job Description

This is a 3-month initial engagement with potential to extend on a rotating day/afternoon roster. The primary focus of this role is to support the product sold through the Company by diligently carrying out service maintenance, repair, and recondition jobs of earthmoving machinery as directed to a satisfactory standard of quality workmanship and in a timely manner.

Your duties will include:

  • Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and greasing of moving parts;
  • Repairing and reconditioning heavy equipment using the latest diagnostic techniques and technology;
  • Determining reusability of disassembled parts and ordering new parts as required;
  • Troubleshooting complex mechanical issues and implementing repairs efficiently;
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth workflow and efficient use of resources;

To succeed in this role, you must possess a Certificate III in Engineering or equivalent and a minimum three to five years' experience in a similar role or equivalent. Additionally, you should hold a valid 'Class C' Driver's Licence and have desirable tickets such as OHG RII, HRWL FL, HRWL DG, EWP RII, and W@H RII. Strong diagnostic skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail are essential.
