As an analyst within our Peptide Hormone team, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact in people's lives while contributing to improved outcomes for Australia and its people.

Our proactive team effectively manages diverse tasks under tight deadlines, ensuring delivery of high-quality services to stakeholders is maintained. We deliver world-class measurement products, advice, and client services.

Our National Measurement Institute administers the regulatory framework for measurement and maintains internationally recognized national measurement standards. The Chemical and Biological Metrology Branch provides measurement standards such as certified reference materials, including pure chemicals, gas standards, matrix materials, and DNA standards.

We coordinate proficiency testing programs to assist laboratories assess their ongoing quality and performance. This requires experience in performing haematological analysis, immunoassays, electrophoresis, and Western blotting techniques for biological molecules and macromolecules related to anti-doping testing requirements.

You should have demonstrated ability to interpret results from electrophoretic/Western blotting of biological molecules within World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) requirements, while maintaining laboratory quality system requirements as per ISO/IEC 17025.

A strong understanding of laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and/or other related laboratory database systems, and the ability to operate in a paperless laboratory is desirable.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in performing haematological analysis, immunoassays, electrophoresis, and Western blotting techniques for biological molecules and macromolecules
  • Ability to interpret results from electrophoretic/Western blotting of biological molecules within WADA requirements
  • Maintenance of laboratory quality system requirements as per ISO/IEC 17025
  • Strong understanding of LIMS and/or other related laboratory database systems
